Originally from Matamoros, Mexico. Ivan is a dedicated performer, collaborator, and teacher. Ivan has won chamber competitions in the states of Texas and Georgia. He was awarded first place in the 2016 International Clarinet Association’s Orchestral Audition Competition. He has served as the second clarinetist in the Waco Symphony, bass clarinet player in the Valley Symphony Orchestra and woodwinds pit musician (clarinets, flutes, saxophones) for several theaters in the Atlanta area. He holds a BME from the University of Texas at Brownsville, MM from Baylor University and Doctoral work from University of Georgia.
